Here at Horizon Landscape Company, we are coming to the end of what is traditionally our busiest week. It’s the equivalent of Tech Week in theater, where all of the planning and preparation are finally pulled together to create an entertainment masterpiece. In the landscaping business, the entertainment masterpiece is your outdoor living space.
Ah, Memorial Day. The property has been cleaned up, the grass cut, the beds edged, the flowers planted, and the irrigation system has been fired up and fine tuned. There’s nothing left to do but settle into a comfy lawn chair and dream about parades, barbecues, and our summer entertaining plans. But behind the scenes over the past several weeks, Horizon Landscape Company has been in a flurry of activity so that you can fully enjoy the holiday and the summer fun to come.
Since the end of March, four maintenance crews have been busy cleaning up and cutting the lawns of over 300 full-service lawn maintenance customers. Since early April, four experienced irrigation technicians have been opening, repairing and fine-tuning nearly 1000 sprinkler systems. Two construction crews have been hard at work building patios, walls and other hardscapes. And throughout all of this, our professional management and secretarial staff has been working overtime to keep them all running smoothly. Add to the mix one of the rainiest springtimes in New Jersey in recent history, and you can see why this last countdown week to Memorial Day is such a frenzy!
Horizon Landscape Company is proud to say that we are closed on Memorial Day, not because it’s a Federal holiday, and not because our employees have earned a well deserved rest, but because we feel it is so very important to take time to remember all of the brave men and women who have given their lives in service to this country in the name of freedom. We urge you to take time during your weekend festivities to remember that it is due to the sacrifices of our military that we are able to have the freedom to enjoy those burgers in our bare feet on a lush green lawn.
