Lawn Area Management

SPRING CLEANUP

Lawn and bed areas cleaned of debris and blown through. All bed edges will be spaded, line edged, and all sidewalks and curbs will be mechanically edged.

LAWN MAINTENANCE

All turf mowed weekly beginning in April and through the end of October, with three additional mowings in November and December during leaf removal. Lawn Maintenance includes the lawn cut weekly, lawn edged and hand-trimmed to maintain a neat appearance.

EDGING

All sidewalks, curb lines, concrete slabs, bed edges and the immediate high visual areas mechanically edged as needed to maintain a neat, clean appearance, approximately twice per month.

TRIMMING OR “WEED EATING”

Trimming performed around all road signs, guard posts, trees, shrubs, utility poles and other obstacles, taking special care to not damage trees and shrubs.

CLEAN/BLOW WALKS

At the conclusion of each visit, walks and driveways adjacent to work areas are swept or blown clean.

Shrub Bed Management

CARE OF SHRUB BEDS

All planter beds, tree circles, sidewalk cracks, etc., sprayed periodically to control unwanted grasses and broadleaf weeds. Chemical practices does not substitute for hand weeding where the latter is required for complete removal. All planter beds are to have one application of pre-emergence herbicide per year at the beginning of the season. Adequate mulch is required for suitable weed control.

CARE OF ORNAMENTAL PLANTS

Fertilizing of shrubs and ornamental trees completed in the fall. Pests on ornamental trees and shrubs are controlled through the IPM technique. Evergreen shrubs are treated with an anti-desiccant to prevent water loss during the winter months.

PRUNING

Shrubbery pruned to ensure the proper shape and natural growth habit for the area they are growing in once per year.

Ornamental tree pruning includes the removal of dead, damaged, improper branching and diseased portions of the plant.

Leaf Removal

Removal of all leaves from lawns, and walkways completed throughout the season as needed to maintain a clean appearance. In October, entire property, including bed and lawn areas, cleaned of all leaves, with a final cleanup in December, including final lawn cut for winter.

Horizon Landscape specializes in installing, repairing, and maintaining residential and commercial irrigation systems.
